I would love to find time to quilt, scrapbook, but with raising a two-year old, that just isn't possible right now. Anything I would attempt to get out would be moved, played with, swallowed, chewed on or generally destroyed. My house isn't big enough to have a room that I can just "close the door on" SO, it has been set aside for now.
Instead, I spend my quite time (nap or bedtime for Kaleb) reading, crocheting (a new endeavor) or watching movies.
In spite of having to set aside certain interests and hobbies for right now, I'm trying to enjoy these moments, because they're not going to last forever. I love being a mommy!
When I'm not home with my family, I'm at work as a Client Care Coordinator for Home Instead Senior Care. If you know of any seniors who need home-care services, give me a call! I'll be happy to help you out.
About Greg
Greg is my wonderful husband, father of Evan and Kaleb.
He's into anything technically "cool" and owns most every toy he can get his hands onto-- whether its the new Nook, a Droid, and soon, new computer technology.
In addition being a techie, he also enjoys playing his guitar, though like me, he has had to set that aside due to our helpful 2 year old. He tends to spend his evenings after Kaleb has crashed watching movies or reading.
He makes sure that our house is in order amidst Kaleb's and my chaos (and we appreciate his patience with us!). He loves anything Poison, Steven King, "It's a Wonderful Life", Pixar movies (and movies in general).
He is most decidedly NOT a sports fan (unless Evan is involved), although he does enjoy the occasional Toledo Mudhen's game.
I love him dearly and look forward to growing old with him.
About Evan
Evan seven years old and in the first grade. He is our totally awesome sports star! His favorite sport is baseball. In addition to playing baseball, he plays soccer in the spring and fall and basketball in the winter. He is also a blue-belt in Karate. We try to be at as many games as possible to cheer him on!
When he's not busy playing sports, he loves to play cards, his Nintendo DS, the Wii, and anything that involves being outside. He has also figured out how to ride his bike without training wheels this past summer.
He also continually tries to explain the subtleties of Bakugan. We still don't get it.
He's also a Cub Scout and has recently earned his Tiger badge! We're very proud of him!
About Kaleb
Kaleb is my wonderful, terrible, amazing, shocking, superb TWO year old.
We've been in the throws of the terrible two's since he was about 18 months old.
BUT, we do adore this kid, who can be so lovable and and have such a sweet nature one minute and then begin gnashing his teeth and shouting "NO, I DON'T WANT TO", the next. It's like living with Dr. Jekyll and Kaleb Hyde at times!
He LOVES anything Toy Story. Woody is his best pal. He sleeps with pretty much everyone from the movie except Buzz, who is too hard (plastic). We watch the movie at least 5 times a week. Thank goodness there are three movies.
Kaleb is also into planes, trains and automobiles. Most every night, he has at least one of these vehicles out and is playing with them--- in the form of matchbox cars or Geotrax.
In addition to his Toy Story pals, he also sleeps with his Puppy still-- given to him by his Aunt Emily the day he was born. Sleep does not happen without Puppy. He also sleeps with Ducky Blanket and his Judy-Blanket.
Kaleb talks NON-STOP when he is awake. Greg and I are continually amazed at what he has to say every day. While these are trying times, they are also fun and exciting times of exploration and new discoveries!
He's known as Kaleb, Big-K, Noodle, Pumpkin-noodle, George, K-Bob, Obie.
Missy and Maisy
Missy and Maisy are the newest addition to our family. Missy (Mystic) came to us in the form of a Christmas gift from Santa Claus in 2009. She was adopted from the humane society in early 2010. She is a very quiet, sweet natured kitty, and has been a wonderful addition to our family. Maisy came to us from a co-worker of Greg's over the summer. She is a little ball of energy who is constantly looking for attention, whether it is to be petted, picked on or played with.
Both of our kitties love to play with toys, as well as to be teased by the laser beam. One of them-- we haven't figured out which one, yet-- has claimed a stuffed squirrel of Kaleb's as their own, and we find it ALL OVER the house.
Rest In Peace
Magic was our yellow-eyed jet-black cat. She was known as Magic Marie, Magic, Fluff, Fluffer-Nutter, Kitty, Baby-Girl/BBG, Miss Magic, Popper, M&M, Doodlebug, Doodles, and probably three or four others that we've missed. She held the title of the most nicknames in our house.
Loki was our snuggley, snotty, loud purring, even louder meowing Siamese cat with 10,000 lives. He had been through it all-- Kidney failure, sinus infections, congestion, and attacked by a mean neighbor. He was also known as Poki, Poki-san, Snot-bucket, Lokster, Lok, Kitty
